Alignment layer

Events create the conditions where transactions occur.

Events are not the product. They are the alignment infrastructure the intelligence layer points at: a format chosen for the objective at hand, with the people who can actually move it in the room — and nothing staged that a briefing could have done instead.

01 Formats

Two rooms. Two different jobs.

Format varies by objective. Choosing the wrong one is how a serious question ends up on a stage, and how a genuine constraint never gets named at all.

Conferences

For the moment a domain needs a public reference point.

Open, agenda-led and built for visibility and market positioning. It is the widest format and deliberately the least precise: a conference establishes who the actors are and what the shared question is, and does not pretend to produce commitments.

Closed sessions

For the conversation that cannot happen on a stage.

Closed, unattributed and small: a named constraint, the few people who can move it, and no audience. This is where qualified exchange, deal flow and strategic partnerships form — and nothing attributed leaves the room unless the participants agree it can.

These are the formats the alignment layer works in. The record of what has actually been convened is further down this page — it is short, and we have not padded it. Events also generate intelligence: discussions surface emerging patterns and validate assumptions, and what they reveal feeds back into the content hub.

02 Content engine

A room is a cycle, not an occasion.

Intelligence decides what a gathering is about; the gathering decides what the intelligence has to explain next. Neither layer is worth much running on its own.

  1. Before

    Intelligence sets the agenda

What has changed in the domain over the preceding weeks decides which question is worth putting in a room — and who has to be there for it to be answerable. An agenda assembled any other way is a programme, not an instrument.

  2. During

    The room surfaces disagreement

A published entry can establish what happened. Only a room shows where senior people diverge on what it means. That divergence is the most useful thing in the building, and the format exists to make it visible rather than polite.

  3. After

What was established returns as context

The conclusions a room reaches go back into the intelligence layer as context for what follows — under the constraint that closed sessions stay closed, and only what participants clear is ever published.

Partner roles

Six roles a gathering needs filled.

An event that works is an assembly of roles, not a sponsorship deck. These are the positions Pontis builds around — described as roles because organisations appear on this site only with their own clearance, and never as decoration.

Sponsorship is sold as access and market presence, not as logo spend. A sponsor buys a position in a market conversation, and the test of it is who they leave having met.

Host city
Place, permission and convening authority. A host city is not a venue: it decides which of its institutions turn up and what the gathering is for locally.
Knowledge partner
Universities, institutes and think tanks that set the factual floor of an agenda and supply people who can be questioned rather than pitched to.
Industry partner
An operator with a real deployment problem and the procurement weight that makes solving it worth other people’s time.
Capital partner
Investors funding the distance between a working technology and a deployed one, who need the same context the room is assembling.
Production partner
The people who run a programme properly — staging, hosting, moderation, logistics. Invisible when it works, and the whole story when it does not.
Media partner
Publishers and ecosystem media who carry the outcome to the people who were not in the room, on terms agreed before it opens.
03 The record

Everything Pontis has convened.

Past event

Human×AI Europe

A one-day forum on how Europe can turn AI into a foundation for competitiveness, sovereignty and deployment. It brought founders, investors, industry and public institutions into the same conversation — the alignment layer in practice.

Hofstallungen MUMOK, Vienna, Austria

That is the whole list. Human×AI Europe is the first event Pontis convened, and to date the only one. Planning for a 2027 edition is under way; the date, theme and programme have not been announced, and they will appear here when they are.

Work with us on a room

Partner on an event.

Tell us which role you would take — host city, knowledge, industry, capital, production or media — and the decision you want the room to make possible. If the answer is that no room is needed, we will say that instead.

Build with Pontis

Turn a strategic gap into a working ecosystem.

Bring us a concrete use case, a market failure or a capability gap. We will help define the context, the stakeholders and the format needed to move it towards a decision.
